8-14-09 // night before the archery opener // Manti Utah, LE unit hunting for spikes. 8/15/09 Opening day My son Cody and I had 28 head talking and he was able to stock in while I keep calling - both the cows calfs and bulls were all worked up. He put a perfect double lunged shot on this bull.

you should make your own post on you kids bull, lots more feedback.
very cool, i can remember my first bull with my dad, nothing will replace that! great job on helping your kid out, when you get old, cant walk those hills quit like you once could, cant quit hear or see like you once could[ alright- i'll quit the old crap] but you can bet he'll be there to return the favor! and what a better way to spend a day than being with your son or dad?

Buckmaster - were there bugles or just chirping? Bulls will chirp just like cows and calfs.

Friday night, we had a small 5x6 that was sounding off (2 and 3 tone bugles) then Sat we had a 6x6 doing a low growl and chuckel.... yep they were also chirping with the cows and calfs. :thumb

Very cool. I dont think you rained on anyones thread, I think Killer was merely stating that if you made a thread for your son and his bull then you could get more feedback on it without having to filter through the other stuff going on in this thread.

Buckmaster - that is incredible that they were already starting to talk in your area. Great luck there. Seems really early, but the earlier the better for us bowhunters. Great job!

We heard the first bugle August 20 at about 7:00 pm. We were watching a 350 class 6 point at the time and he had rubbed out in the past few days. He looked and listened. Then trotted towards it. They had been losing velvet and sparring some all week. It was in the Lasals limited entry unit. Saw one young 330 class 7 point that will be a monster some day. I didn't get close enough to get any pictures. Maybe next week when I go back.
