First Hard Horned Buck

Saw, or more correctly my trail camera caught a pict, of the first hard horned muley in the area last wend. If its the same buck I think it is he was still in velvet as of Monday. I'd really like his big buddy to be shed off by tomarrow (muzzeloader opener), but then again I'm not that picky when it comes to big deer. :)

Yep saw a few in Southern Utah last weekend on Labor Day! That time of year, one was blood red horns, pretty cool.

On Friday 09/11/09 I saw a road kill hard horned 2 point. Saw a different road killed hard horned 2 point on the drive in today. Saw two velvet bucks killed on the same road about a month ago. It's the road near camp williams. There's at least 100 road kills a year in about a 5 mile stretch.

I was about 50/50 on hard horned to velvet bucks Friday evening.

when i shot my 4X4 wednesday he was runnin with a small spike that was still in velvet seen him again sunday and he finally shed his velvet. he was the last one i saw in velvet and that was on 9/23
