Fixed or Mech. Heads for Bears

Just wondering which head is better for bears, mech, or fixed. I plan on hunting them this year [-o< And if I get the chance I want to take it with my bow. Do mechanicals work on there thick furry hair or is a fixed better. I don't want to risk losing the bear due to no enough penetration if the mech is not going to preform with all the hair they have.

Thanks in advance.

If you are planning on going to Idaho then don't worry about mechanical broadheads. It wasn't till I showed up there to hunt bears that I found out that they aren't allowed.

I've always liked the mechanical broadheads myself. Even on elk I've had plenty of penetration.

We did get a deflection on a bull this year, approx 3" before it penetrated into the cavity (you could see the cut mark in the hair) the bull only went 50 yards so the mechanicals do work.... But I think if it was me personally I would go fixed. Here is the hole of the mechanical 1 1/2"

I personally wouldnt shoot a mechanical at anything!

Just my opinion though
