Footwear

Well it looks like it is time for a new pair of hunting boots. There are lots of them to choose from so I'm just curious which ones are working good for any of you. Mostly I need a light pair for spot and stalk in steep hills. Thanks in advance. :-k

I have used Danners for around 18 years now (3 Pair) and love them. Great for climbing and they keep my feet dry and warm. I think the new ones run around $200 or so.

I picked up a set of Irish Setters a few years ago and have loved them. From the fist day they never wore a single blister on my feet. These boots are the hunting line of the Redwing shoes and they also cost around $200.

I've used ALL brands over the years. Vasque, Meindl, Danner, Browning, etc.....I've currently settled on the Danner Instigator for mid climate hunting/hiking the last two seasons. It's light weight, Gortex, leather, and uninsulated. I hunt A LOT and am fairly hard on boots, and they haven't even lost a stitch. They run about $160.00 retail:

Thanks for the input, Seems like there are days when I can't wait to get my old boots off of my feet.

The pair that I picked up were the Yosemite's. They are the uninsulated pair that still has the gortex lineing. I've really liked them and they have held up well so far.
