Fur and Calibers???

In Colorado trapping is not alowed any more (on public ground) and I've been wanting to take some beavers. I know from experience a 22 is too small to lay a beaver where it stands (wheather on land or ice) and a 22.250 goes clean through at such close ranges. I'm thinking about a
.17HMR. and hoping it wont come out the other side. any input on this caliber or any suggestions on others would be
appreciated

sounds like you want the bullet to blow up inside!
a 22 hornet would be great!
the 17hmr should work ok, but I'd prefer something with some more energy

How about a 6.8. Shoot pretty fast! Nice small game gun.

If you can find one, a .221 Fireball is a sweet little round that won't destroy varmints at close range.
