Gambel Quail Honey Hole 12/28/06

My brother and I hit the fiield for my birthday and came away very successful. We located one of the biggest coveys I have ever found. Before we separated them up the covey contained about 50-70 birds. They were hunkered down and hard to find in the cold and wind. We originally found them by watching a hawk hunt. We went to see what he was after when he took flight and dropped something. It just happened to be a quail he was munching on. The covey was only about 50 yards away. It was a great day and the cold seemed to disappear when the adrenaline kicked in.

I tried to add some pics but "the extension is not allowed". I'll try to get them up later.
