good and bad

Well sorry no pics yet but we had the wildlife biologist out tuesday on the new ranch. good news and bad news. good news is i have a ton of deer. which i knew but not to the extent that it is. we will get a TON of deer tags for muley does. we put a 5 1/2 year minimum on whitetail bucks and a 6 1/2 age minimum on muley bucks and will only take 3 bucks a year. turkey population is great also. bad news- i am infested with pigs. we have been seeing any where from 40 to 200 a day!!!!!!! we are killing them as fast as we can but it is going to be a long process. out of the 176 acres of wheat fields we have all of it was a total loss due to hog damage. the ranch is 740 acres and you cant walk 10 feet in any direction without hitting a hog root.

I haven't ever been around hogs, but I understand they can be a real problem. It sounds like you have a great piece of property.

Good to hear about the wanted game. I bet that if you look around you will be able to find plenty of help with your hog problem.

Heck if it wasn't so far I would help myself. LOL

Yea if it was closer a lot of us would be happy to help you. :)

But sounds like the GOOD far outweighs the bad to me. Little slice of Heaven is what it sounds like.

Man, I used to LOVE to hunt those things when I was stationed in CA! Of course, they weren't destroying my own land either!

i finally got all of the hog pens up around the feeders. they already completely destroyed one of the feeders and i had to replace it. they tore it off the tposts that the legs were ancored to. knocked it over. ate the motor and wiring then opened the top of the feeder like a can opener. i hate pigs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
