Guess this Mule Deer Country

Okay boys/girls, I'm getting some "off-season" blues and am in need of some mule deer talk. Let's post some of our famous mule deer country photos and see if anyone can guess what range it is.

Here's the first one from Colorado (hint):

Tough pic to nail down, could be just about anywhere in the Continental Range area. I know it's not the back side of Pike's Peak so I'll make my guess the back side of Antero???

Well, for those who have hunted the famous Uncompahgre Plateau of S/W Colorado, you'll see this peak off to the east. It is Lone Cone Peak straight out of Norwood, CO. Some awesome big buck country, especially in the 80's....starting to come back again.

Wouldn't have had clue where that is or I would have guessed. :)

Went down to the Kaibab this last Wednesday, haven't been there since I was a kid. Lot's of country, went looking for sheds. But found mostly snow and mud. Found a few deer, couple dinks still packing.

And some does near Kanab.

Where do people hunt on the Kaibab anyway? Jacobs Lake a popular spot?

Nice photo Brett.....Haven't been to the Kaibab since you were a kid? Man, it's in your backyard! I'd be there ALL the time if I was that close. One thing about it, during the archery season it seems like EVERYONE is hunting within 1 mile of the Jacob Lake Lodge. :>/

Here's another mule deer country photo. Maybe you Utah boys will recognize it?

Looks like Paunsaugunt country to me, the South end?

I obviously don't "get out" as much as you Roy. :)

Kaibab seemed so "THICK" to me, isn't there any open country at all. :)

Maybe I'll get down there more some day, just so dang busy.

I would guess the Utah picture of the ledges to be powell point. between Bryce and Escalante. Not to sure on the others.

Allan, My photo doesn't show much, it was getting dark.

It's in the Charlie M Russel wildlife refuge MT. The CMR is 1,100,000 Acres and is only a part of MT vast Missouri Breaks country.

Still looks like some neat country. Would like to hunt up around that area one day.

The Missouri breaks as you probably know are more well
known nowdays for its archery elk hunting.

Still the Mule deer are doing well.

Nice looking deer country! I haven't hunted that part of the state, so I have been clueless, thus far. Thanks for posting the photos.

You're good, as my second photo is spot on (Escalante). I guess I shouldn't have posted a photo of your back yard. :)

Here's another for my Utah brothers. Don't mind the two ugly mugs in the middle. Can you guess what mule deer range this is?
