The first hog shown is another called hog. We've been hunting a sudan field for the last few weeks which makes for good hog calling because the hogs spend their day light hours in there. The farmer called me yesterday and told me they were cutting the hay. So we headed out to see if they ran any hogs out. I dropped Michelle off near a big thicket where she thought the hogs might move to if they left the hay field. I headed back to watch a U shape in the field where they could move from one patch to the another exposing them for a shot. The hay cutter had just passed and I had just parked the truck when a hog moved across the opening and I dropped him. He was a dark red hog with white front legs. I've only killed one other that color. I had to catch a call from one of the EOTech boys and while I was talking I heard Michelle shoot. You could definitely tell she hit meat. She was working her way up a hill that produces lots of hogs for us year after year when she noticed something white flicker. At first she thought it was a bird then she saw something bigger. It was a blonde hog. She leveled her 7mm mag and dropped the hog. We've killed hundreds of hogs over the year and I don't ever remember killing one the color of this hog.
