Hold Over For Elk

I'm trying to memorize holdover numbers for an upcoming elk hunt. The leader said that if I feel capable I should be prepared to take some 300-400 yd shots. I've killed white-tail at that range but I'm looking for input on chest size and vitals area size for an elk. My guesses are as follows:
- Average chest size 32 in.
- Average vital area size 10 in.
- Average distance below back of vitals area 10 in.
Anyone care to comment?
THANKS!!!!!!!!

I'd venture a guess from what I've read, not from experience though.
Chest size = about 38" (breastbone to shoulder top)
Optimal kill zone = 10"
Kill zone = 20"x20"
6-8" behind shoulder or a hand length.
Where you hunting for ELK?
We're hunting first rifle (starts this Sat.) just outside of Cortez, CO.
