WOW, that's a crazy amount of money. I think i'll have to stick with my general season tag for a few more years before I can afford one of those. Kinda sick to think that guy from vernal paid more for his deer tag than I paid for my house......

could of bought land owner tags in every state that sells them and gone guided in all states for that kind of money.

The guy that bid $205,000 from Vernal said it best.

"I bid only because the mule deer need help and that is exactly what this permit does," said Kay, 54, a lifelong Utah resident. "I hunt every year, but I haven't shot a deer in five years. I love to see the animals; the record books don't mean anything to me."

If I were so filthy wealthy that I could spend $205,000 on a hunting tag I would definitely want some of it going to help the herds.

Although he said record books don't mean anything to me, I kinda think he's hoping for a good buck this year lol

Again, if I had that kind of money you can bet i'd be doing both the auction and land owner tags. I was completely suprised that Kay has not shot a deer in five years when he's the type that is willing to spend 205000 for a tag. Kudos to him for helping to fund the DWR so that the rest of us benefit.

It's nice to see he's willing to pay that much for a reason other than shooting a monster deer. Just remind me to stay away from wherever he's been hunting. Record books dont mean anything to me either but I have managed to fill a tag 4 out of the last 5 years. Any way you look at it it's a lot of money and I wish him the best come hunting season.

I want to thank these people for their contributions. =D> The money for the 3 deer tags alone is probably more than everyone on this forum will contribute in our lifetime or at least 90% of us. :thumb
