hunting unit 33 in new mexs

wood like to add some more info,like i said we are from carlsbad,NEW MEXICO. my wife shoots with a 30-06 model 700. we can only hunt on the weekend .i told her maybe we can get one off the road we are beenen told that unit is about 80% private property. (unit 33) only her second time hunting with a high power.

I'm guessing you have a muley tag? I live just a little outside unit 33. But I have never hunted the area. But I hear staying next to the Pecos is your best bet. Find somewhere to glass from because that is the only way to get a good lay of the land out there. But I would think staying near the Pecos that you should see something out there. Good luck!

well, people i just get back from may hunt new mex... unit 30 for big malies. well it wasn't good at all just too hot . the deer wasnt moving ,we hunted four days befor we had to came back too work. me and my dad hunt together ever year , we also have a uncle that cames in from dallas he never misses a hunt ...sorry too say we dont get one but next year .we are going too put in unit 32..

we hunted in the queens area,for two days . we also hunted in the texas hills area, by marathon, gas plant.no luck just too hot..
