Good luck! They can be kind of fun to ride out but when you see the damage caused there is no fun at all. The sheer force of Mother Nature is simply amazing.

Been through a dozen or so, none of em are any fun. Main thing is make sure u have plenty of food and water. Took up to a week a couple of times for gasoline and grocery stores to become available and up to 3 weeks to get power back at the house. Keep your head down and let us know it goes. Good luck!

Good luck my friend! As a former meteorologist and someone who's been through a couple of em I can attest to their sheer power.

Maintguy47 brought up a very good point...make sure you have plenty of provisions...although I'd expect nothing less from a devil dog!

Made it through the storm. Tons of trees down and power lines. We were lucky and just had minor roof leaks. Keep the East Coast in your prayers.

Sounds like it didn't turn out to be as intense as expected, is that right? My 4runner is sitting in a parking lot in VA, along with everything I own packed inside of it. I'm really hoping I'm not going to get back in a few months to a banged up car and everything inside moldy :/ Glad to hear you didn't have too much damage and your family is safe.

Good to hear you are ok. VA wasn't hit too hard outside the Chesapeake bay area. Some minor flooding and trees knocked down, it could have been a lot worse so we were lucky. Tropical storm Lee on the otherhand is drenching us pretty bad and adding to the problems left over by Irene.
