I have Buck Fever!!!

Is anyone one else having a hard time thinking about anything other than hunting? My wife is starting to get sick of me. She's always saying I have a one track mind. I think she's right. Ever since I saw that nice big buck in my honey hole a couple weeks ago, I can't think of anything else. Prep, prep, prep! Aug 21st can't come soon enough. Sheesh!!! ](*,) What would I do without hunting? I shiver at the thought... I used to get excited about rifle hunting, but it was nothing like this. I think archery is a drug! (@@)

I couldn't agree more. My wife was on me yesterday for the 'you can't do this with me because you have to shoot your bow, or you have to run, or make phone calls or study maps or....!' I definitely have a one track mind right now! :)) And love it. I can't wait, less than three weeks now. :)

Me too!!! Been shooting everyday in an effort to be as prepared as possible for when the big moment comes. Luckly my wife is a hunter so she is just as excited as I am to get on my buck! Hopefully the stars will align on opening morning! 4 more shifts at work till I get my 6 days off for the hunt! Woohoo!!

ME Too, I ran up to my spot where I've been watching a couple bucks for a while now the problem is when I got there yesterday I couldn't believe all the water and no deer. Maybe most was from the storm the night before but I hope all that water is gone opening day or I'm scared they won't have to move much.. (???)

Good time of year no doubt, but I'm beginning to drive myself crazy. I feel like I need a time machine. It's like a crack head who need his fix RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! But you have to wait, and everyday is long, and everyone around me thinks I'm obsessed... which I AM! It's nice to have time to get your gear together and get dialed in, but now I'm good to go. Just need a litte cooperation from old Father Time...

a few weeks ago it seemed like all i wanted to do was scratch my head on anything i could. Then a few days ago i would just start singing for no apparent reason. I didnt think much of it till today, i caught my self wanting to piss all over myself and rolling around in the bath tub, all the while singing!!!

Do you guys find yourselves doing the same this time of year???? Oh you should see the hotties im seeing :)

I am at a wedding in Wyoming this weekend in some prime mule deer country and got in trouble this morning for heading up a ridge in the dark to see if anything was moving at first light...

I told my wife I needed the exercise and had to keep my spotting skills sharp. My wife and mother in law didn't agree

lol =D> I'm skipping out on my cousin's reception who conveniently planned it the day before the opener. I'll be at the ceremony and luncheon, however my wife is still PO'd. :-k Seriously? The eve of the opener??? It's not like these dates change.... sheesh!

did my scouting trip thursday....really surprised i didnt see an elk, but tons and tons of sign in the wallows, got my trailcam setup i cant wait to see what's in there.

on my way out my buddy noticed something with big antlers standing on the edge of a clearing about 200 yards away, thought it was a big bull because you could clearly see the rack without optics....pulled out the binos and id bet its damn close to a 30" wide or wider buck, really tall tines, 5x5 or more! there was a second one just as wide behind him in the woods more, he saw us stopped on the road watched for awhile and when he walked into the woods the other one did to so i never got a better look. i cant wait, hopefully i see him again, i think he will stay in the area unless they push the damn sheep into that canyon!

the fever is only getting worse!

I packed in base camp this past weekend, was able to get the tent up, water supply, and just as we were getting ready to go we had a bull bugle about 200 yards from our camp.... I did not sleep last night... lol

I can imagine your excitement!

That's what I love about hunting though. I have general season deer and elk tags and I am still driving myself crazy with anticipation. 5 days and counting...

Honestly who gets married in August- November anyways? Do you want to fight that battle every year, either your anniversary or the huntin' trip?

I told my brother in law he sealed his own fate with that one. He is a Wyoming rifle elk hunter, but will never see any archery season getting married in the middle of August.

I feel the same way. I lay in bed at night arguing with myself what area I should hunt on opening morning. During the work day l am running through scenarios in my head.

I have done everything... shot religiously, scouted, done enough cardio to run a marathon, packed, bought supplies, checked my bow, tuned up the truck

Now it is a waiting game and it is killing me. 1.5 days and l am gone for 10 days. If i watch another video on xbandits.com my retinas are going to burn a hole in the monitor. :thumb
