Idea for hunting rig

Well, with the gas prices going through the roof, i am looking to sell my truck (I use it for everything, work, shuttling the kids, hunting), it has 147,000 miles and is starting to get tired. i have several options; get another truck and suck it up or get a ..gulp... a car, but i have an idea to still have a hunting rig. Has anyone seen an old military truck called a Pinzguaer? You can google it and see them. they basically can go anywhere! and are pretty cheap to buy. i am looking to get one and make it kind of a "off-road" camper, with room for all my hunting stuff. Just an idea... maybe even put a jumping jack trailer on top of the bed, i could take off the wheels and mount it... hmmmmm
What does everyone do for a hunting rig? i would love to see some photos!!!

Here's my hunting rig. 14mpg highway with a trailer. There is more to life than gas mileage.

For the price of buying a "new" vehicle and modifying it with a tent trailer mounted to the bed, you can buy quite a bit of fuel for the truck you already own. I say keep the truck for hunting and what not and buy an around town car to save some $$ on gas mileage. it doesn't sound that much fun hunting from a sedan, but i think more and more of these will be driving up and down the rural dirt roads packed with bright orange covered "city hunters" this year.
