Info on Extended Archery (Wasatch front) for elk

I could use some info on elk hunting the extended archery (Wasatch Front) area. I moved here a few years ago and I'm going bow hunting in Utah for the first time! I have been researching, reading topos and doing some scouting. My only trouble is I don't have a horse or a 4 wheeler yet so I'm looking for a place I can drive up to get as close to the right altitude as the elk. Something like Farmington Canyon. I know I will be hiking a ways to the spots and I'm prepared for that, I've been hitting the gym a lot lately. Does anyone know where some access roads are near the Ogden area that will get me up there where some elk herds are?
