Introduction (New To The Site)

Hello Everyone,

It is generally customary for an introduction on the other forums that I frequent. I recognize at least one gent from Blacktailcountry.com. So here is my intro.

My name is Paul and I live in Oregon. I have primarily targeted Blactailed deer the last few years but decided to try for mule deer this year. We also hunt turkeys and elk. I do have a spring bear tag but don't know if I will go out and hunt bear this year.

Due to Oregon's numbers being way down on public land and that is where we primarily hunt, I put me and my step son Robert (13) in for Utah general season Northern region.

The plan is to do at least one scouting trip and then go hunt from the opener through the first week.

 I would appreciate all the help we can get. Basically, we just want to experience some decent mule deer hunting. Oregon has gone way down hill do to the cougar population, so we have decided to try a general season hunt in Utah to see if things are any better.

At this point, it isn't about the biggest buck for us, it is all about opportunity. I would love to see my step son stick a buck, any buck.

For that matter, getting to do some spot and stalk would be awesome. We plan to check out the Raft River Mtns. in the Sawtooth Ntl. Forest.

blacktail. what are you putting in for as far as hunt Bow, rifle or Muzzy? i may be able to put you on a deer when you draw. it is almost a given for the area you put in for. Look me up

 Thanks a lot. Okay, you asked for it LOL.

I put in for a general season bowhunt, because I was basically assured that we would draw that.

I wanted to extend my bowhunt this year by a week or so to make up for lost time last year.

I will try and figure out how to PM you my email and phone number.

I am very interested in talking to you.

Any starting point at this time is huge. We are literally starting from scratch.
