Irresponsible bowhunters!

At least 6 cattle in the Strawberry valley have being stuck by arrows since the start of archery season.
They are offering big cash awards for ANY information leading to the arrest for these jerks ("jerk" is an understatement for these P.O.S's).
If you have any info, any at all, please contact the UDWR or their website.

And if anyone that did this reads this post and needs more practicing, C'mon over to my place and i'll gladly give you some pointers on shooting. :222

I know cows can be fustrating but thats crazy. I scouted a spot on the nebo loop, where I had been seeing alot of elk, and some good bucks. I went up there this weekend, made camp, and backpacked in, to where I had been seein the most game. What do ya know, cows moved in, game moved out. Did the thought cross my mind to arrow one of the noisey buggers, YES. Would I ever do it? NO...Though I did throw some rocks at one that had found my salt shaker I had accidently left out. I hope that they do catch the guys who did this and they are properly punished. After all our sport doesnt need any more bad press. You never hear about the good things that hunters do.

nonya at least it was one of your own bulls. it is a totally different thing to go around and purposely injure or damage someones livlelyhood just for kicks and giggles. not to mention these slimballs are giving all hunters a bad name. catch them and throw the heaviest book you can get at them.

These cows were not shot by hunters. They were shot by a moron or morons who simply wanted to torture some animals. The cattle were shot with field points. Sounds to me like it was some kids out being stupid. When they are caught they should be sent to work for the rancher to repay him for the damages caused. Who knows, they might learn a little discipline and responsibility that way.

another cow has been arrowed up hoble creek canyon last night. why is it that these slimballs need to do stuff like this. everyone who is out and about on the hunts please pay attention to out of the ordinary behavior and let try to stop this crap quickly. :>/

My inlaws have some property in Southern Utah and they really HATE bowhunters--and for good reason. In the past, they've had a colt killed and have been shot at while out riding horses. Many of the hunters ride in the backs of their trucks up and down the road and shoot at anything that is close to the right color or just happens to move. :arrow They have a pond that is at least a 100 yards off the main road and they always find arrows around its bank that are obviously being shot at watering deer. The ground is well posted No Tresspassing and there is no public ground on the entire mountain. Just last week we found a dead three point in the brush that was about fifty yards away from that same pond. My mother-in-law saw a truck of guys stopped looking at bucks over the fence and pulled up behind them. They motioned for her to pass. She just waited. Finally they got the hint, but were quite rude as they pulled away from the family's property.

Well, they caught the little punks that shot the cows. Seems they were some teenagers from Orem that were upset that they couldn't find any deer to shoot. I guess real hunting is a little tougher than Cabela's Big Game Hunts.

Dont know bout your state but in mine its legal to park on a public roadside and look at deer on private property, what is illegal is harassing hunters who havnt broke a law.I often stop and glass game on private land and have been harassed in the same way your family did,I have no intentions whatsoever of breaking any laws and i have every right to stop and look.3 years ago we were harassed by an outfitter who was cruising the country roads and stopped to let us know we were looking at elk on priavte property( my cousins private property) and we had no buisness being there, after we called the game warden he made it VERY clear to this Jackazz that he was breaking the law by harassing us.Not every hunter stopped on the road looking at deer is a poacher. :nono:

Nonyo, lighten up dude. She never said a word to them. If a person is going to get all ticked off for someone parking behind them while they are "watching" the deer, then they are wanting to do more than just watching. We came across a person with your attitude once that was road hunting and they said since they were on the county road, it was legal to hunt on it as long as they did not cross any fences. Hunting from the road is illegal in itself but of course it's not "tresspassing", right. :thumb
