It's about that time again

The Colorado application deadlind is drawing near and I am still undecided about where to go. I only have 4 preference points so I dont think I can get into any of the real good areas but I have been thinking about maybe a second choice area that I might be able to draw into just because I love to go to Colorado. Looks like we might be able to get into some of the northwest units where CWD is present. I am sure there are a lot of deer in these areas but can anyone tell me if there is any trophy potential. Also I like to hike in 2 to 3 miles, can a fellow get away from the crowds in any of these areas. All help appreciated, got to make a decision. Good hunting. Keep the pictures coming, I love to look at the big boys that I never get to see when I am hunting.

You might want to check with the Colorado DOW on the units you are thinking about and see if there was a significant winter die off.

Probably unit 40 3rd season would be good also unit 30 2nd season you could do with 4 points. There aren't many licenses given out so it isn't crowded. Look at some of the 4th season rut tags. Unit 34 takes one or two points and I guarantee you'll be by yourself. You'll see Bighorns there. There are some great bucks but not many deer. Check to see how they made the winter. The area along Deep Creek holds several huge bucks but they spend alot of time on the private ranch there. I hunted it last year so I know. We came home tired and emptyhanded but we didn't go there to kill a little one. There is a muzzleloader hunt I can put you on that takes a couple points but they only give out 4 or 5 tags usually. Nice bucks too. Nobody has discovered it yet. P.M. me if interested.
