just got back from 1st ever Antelope hunt..Successful!!!!

Just got back to Virginia from my first hunt out west in Wyoming. Got to Eastern WY on Friday October 7th after driving straight through from Virginia. My buddy had a doe tag for our unit and was lucky enought to fill it within a couple of hours of getting to our unit on Friday. After his tag was filled we headed out looking for a buck for me. We found a few groups throughout the afternoon but nothing that we could put a stalk on, right before dark though we spotted a group of bucks that we thought we would give a try the next morning. So promptly at 6am on Saturday morning we made our way to a knoll and waited for legal shooting light. Luckily we didn't bump any bedded goats that I could tell anyway because not long after the sun started coming up so did the antelope. There were about 7 or 8 in the group, all bucks, so I looked them over good and picked out what I thought was the best buck of the group and steadied my tikka 300wsm on its bipod and let one rip. He dropped in his tracks at 150 yards and my first western big game hunt was over. I can't wait until next year! I did all the planning for this trip and it was 100% public land and I wouldn't have it any other way. I know there are bigger goats out there but this one will always be extra special to me because it was the first and 2 of my best buds were there which made it all the more special. I haven't put the tape to him so I cant give any exact measurements but I would estimate him at about 13 to 13 1/2 inches.
