kaibab

is the area around jocobs lake a very good area for archery socuted it about 5 miles se of jacob lake and only seen does and a couple forkys pretty dissapointing any ideas? looked from dawn til about 930 and had to go just wondering if that is just not a productive area or the kaibab sucks that bad i could go around cedar mountain and see more deer than that in 15 minutes

I would try and look in the burned out areas from the last couple of years.

i am not too familiar with the kaibab where aobut are the burns?

I don't know. I have just heard about them. I would try the areas that are where the plateau meets the breaks or finger side canyons.

i was kinda in ares like that, it looked like it rained really good the night before thnk that could have caused them to stay bedded i just dont see that happening because there were a couple deer out just not very many

I've bowhunted the Bab' over 20 years......some of the best bucks I've seen have been within 3 miles either way of Jacob Lake Lodge. Deer numbers are way down compared to years past......but there's a few in there this year. Get off some of the side roads, strap on some boots, and get into the small canyons about the area and you'll see deer.

I was just told of a toad of buck that comes into one of the smaller burns right near Jacob Lake, and saw a picture of one but I didn't get where he was at on the Bab.
