Kentucky Elk Lottery

Has anyone here put in for the Kentucky Elk Lottery? Better yet, has anyone that put in ever been drawn? I have put in every year sinse it started and nothing. I live here. lol I'm up against 48K to 58K entries I am told. Long odds. Oh well, I'll keep trying. I know a couple of guys that made it for cow tags but that's all. OT

I have never applied for Kentucky but I would like to say a big thanks to KY for its part in the elk restoration in MO. I hear that they have already trapped about 50 of the 150 that they are going to send to us. I hope some day in the future to hold in my hands a MO elk tag thanks in no small part to KY.

 Thanks 6x6, We owe it all to a very dedicated Commissioner, the RMEF, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and I think Montana. Lots of work. I was able to see the first release in 1997. SIMPLY AWSOME! We have had our share of problems with land owners, poachers, etc., but that is to be expected. Those big guys tend to go where they want to. To date our CO's have been able to pretty much contain or eliminate the wanderers. Good luck to MO. It is an opportunity I never thought I would have here in KY. OT

PS: Remind me to share a story about the first poachers they caught and how they caught them.

I have been applying for several years. The odds are long but if you are blessed with a bull tag, you have a realy good chance at killing a big mature bull. So ill keep donating my money and hope for the best.
