Killing bull vs cow elk

For you guys who bow hunt. Do you find it harder to kill a cow vs a bull elk since during the rut bulls are easier to call in for a shot ?

i dont know for sure but i'ed say its harder to kill a cow manly beacuse they are more alert than the bulls.

Depends on the ratio where I hunt there are 100 cows to every 25 bulls. I could shoot a cow any day of the week.

i'm deffinatly going with the bulls being lots harder. i'd even say in most anywhere you hunt. i've went to most of the western states and it's always been lettling a bunch of cows walk in range and not shooting wait for that shot at a bull that a lot of times dont present it's self.

I guess it just depends on the hunt. Bulls usually have cows within close proximity to them during the rut, so it could go either way. But on average I've had more shot opportunities at bulls - probably because that's what we're calling in.

The area I hunt for elk is so thick that 6-8 cows is considered a big herd. The bulls just can't keep track of any more than that. In the last two years I've called in 25 bulls (mainly raghorns) to within 30 yards but have never had a shot at a cow. In fact, last year there were four of us hunting I don't think any of us even saw a cow. For me the cows would be much more difficult to harvest.
