Wow, sad deal but fairly common with diabetes. Tough deal. Great guy.

It is a very sad deal. I lost my father to this. He was 49. When it came time for the doctors to amputate, dad decided to not have the surgery. He didnt want anyone to have to wait on him. He chose to discontinue dialisis and go in peace. That was 12 years ago.

Frustrating that after this long, there is no cure.

I heard about it on the radio yesterday when traveling home from work. I sure felt a pang of sorrow for him, his family, and the community. I've never met him personally but he sure is a great person. He is one of those ultra rich guy's that does so much good with his money. There have been so many people that have benefited from his charity. My prayers go out to him and his family.

Sorry to here about Kinzysdad's dad. Bummer way to go. Hope there are plenty of great hunting or other memories for you.

Sad deal for sure.
It hits really close to home for me since my Grandma and my Aunt both died due to complications with diabetes. My mom has had a few symptoms and refuses to get tested because she saw what it did to her sister and her mom and has the attitude "if I dont know it's there then it's not really there and i dont have to worry about it".
