Latest Trail Cam build pics

Okay here is my latest trail cam pics, I built two new ones and repaired/improved 1 other one.

I was going for the "sagebrush" look with my paint job on these...?? Not sure what I think? Guess I won't know for sure until I get them in field (which will be in a week) :)

So if you guys haven't tried building one of these your missing out. I'll let you know of course when the pics start rolling in.

This one has 3 colors of paint and 3-4 different types of bush patterns.

Looks good! I still havn't convinced myself that I could actually build one myself and that it would work. That paint job looks great I think! I am getting ready to paint one of my cams because right now it's flat black, and sticks out like a sore thumb everywhere I put it! #-o I remember seeing a web page some time last year that showed how to make "tree bark" out of that GreatStuff foam but can't find it now. :-k

Azhunter,

They work and they work good. :)

Never heard of GreatStuff foam, what is it?

How much does it cost to make one of those?

About 150.00 bucks, can spend more if you get a better camera.

But trust me these are awesome, here is a pic I got last summer from one I built. (just like these in the photos)

Greatstuff is a spay foam sealer/insulator that they use on construction sites for plumbing, electrical, or to seal off a hole in block after running something through it, and before sealing it off for good. It expands about 2-3 it's size after it gets out of the can, and is a gooey mess before it dries. It's some fun stuff to play with though as you can create designs with it then let it harden, and then carve on it like regular foam. I'm still looking for the link and when/if I find it, I'll post it here.

Here is a link that shows their new small can, and gives a brief statement about it's uses.

Okay cool, I know what it is now. Just didn't know it's name.

I'm going to have to try that now, sounds like a good idea.

I found the site, but it's no longer there. #-o

But I did search around until I found the photos that use to be on the site I think. I'm sure if I just grabbed a can of the foam, and a piece of wood I could figure out how to do it. It's worth a shot atleast and it can't be any worse than the flat black case it is now. :)

Getting the colors ready for cover coat.

Another camera with first cover coat, still needs one more layer of paint.

On a tree with final coat applied.

The way I camo my cameras is to go to Kmart and buy some of the leafe cut tape that is made to put around your treestand ect.
I then stich it to the camera front, sides and back and then I use a small pair of sissors to cut out the openings for the flash, lans and sensor.
It ain't pretty but it has the 3D affect and hides the cameras very well.
I'll try and post a picture later. Treetop
