Both of my boys killed their first archery deer last season. I ate tag soup. Had plenty of chances at small deer but I wanted something for the books. Got close a few times, just couldn't close the deal.
We did so-so on the ducks. Nothing too exciting but we did have a few good shoots. My oldest son shot his 3rd banded goose last season. He also shot a really nice bull canvasback that he sent to the taxi. I shot a ringneck that I sent out too. I'll post pics when we get them back. Todd Huffman of Birdman Studios in Colorado does amazing bird taxidermy.
Heading out for an archery turkey hunt in a few weeks. Three bows (me and my 2 sons), non-pressured turkeys on 3500 acres of private land in CA, and 4 days to hunt those big toms. Should be good...
We take our shotguns too, just in case we can't get them close enough to the Double Bull for an arrow.
