Here are some bucks from the 2006 general seasons. I was standing right next to my buddy that shot the nice four point buck. I also shot a nice four point on the general season rifle hunt. Here is a picture of the buck back at my spike camp. Every year I packpack alone and set up camp for the deer hunt. I was on my way back to my tent when I spotted this buck with some does only 150 yards from my tent. Go figure!

Okay...
This is the buck I shot last day of the season 2004 just as it started to snow in the area south of the Salmon River. Not a record book buck but definitely the best one I've had the pleasure of taking (my dad is the old guy!!:))
http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h244/gpwd17/hunting/2004buck.jpg" alt="" />
This is the buck my dad shot in 2005 on the second to the last day within 50 yards of where mine was shot the year before. This was a strange deer. When we saw it originally we didn't think for a second it was a whitetail (the unit we hunt in has VERY FEW if any whitetail deer). We only saw a quick glimpse of the deer as it was running down the draw. It stopped but was behind a tree for me. My dad still had a clear shot and he drilled it. When we got over to it, we realized it had a 12" white tail and the antlers were shaped more like a white tail than a muley. The body was enormous. I think it might have been the fabled cross-breed muley/whitetail. Anyone think it may have crossed? Anyone think it is 100% whitetail?

While I'm at it, here is the Bull elk my mom blasted on opening morning not more than 1/2 mile from our honey hole last year. What a brute.

Great animals! Thanks for posting them. :thumb

IMO, that for sure is a Mulie/Whitetail Cross, no doubt about it....solid white tail, color of hide....that brownish color, long browtines.
25
GPWDeer
Lets keep 'em coming. I know there were a ton of pictures in the Mule deer section of the photos that were from 2006 so lets see 'em and hear the stories that go with them.

Well, my pics are on here in a couple of differnt threads, but you asked for them so you get them again. This is my '06 mule deer. Shot at about 100 yards quartering away. He weighed in right around 250 lbs dressed and 29 1/2" wide. Havent had him scored yet so if anyone knows somebody in Davis county that can score him for me I'd love to know exactly what he scores.

I told ya, right in your back yard. Well, far enough away to be legal that is. :222

If you really must know bigbuck msg me and I'll tell ya exactly where I was. Even give you the GPS coordinates if you like. He wasn't far from another one that will be about the same size this year.

When Kurt darner was asked where he shot some of his record deer he'd tell people the exact spot where it was killed and people rarely believed him. So if I told you where I shot this lil' ol' thing would you believe me anyway?
25
NONYA
Kurt Darner isnt well known for his honest behavior,i wouldnt believe him either. :222

Good point. I guess that wasn't the best example to use. Or I guess maybe it was a good example if I'm just going to tell a story anyway.
25
bigbuck92
ya i guess i would beleive. well it really just depends on how well i knew the person
25

I have no problem telling people what I saw when coming off the mnt. I'll tell people back at the trailhead that I just saw 10 nice 4 points that morning and they give that look like I'm so full of crap. Oh well, there loss. Well sometimes I am full of crap.... it may have been 15-20 good bucks.
