I like a guy with plenty of dog's. I'm down to one now, a 14yr old English Pointer. Have had lots tho, Springers, Shorthairs, labs. Also worked with Visla's, E. Setters and Britt's. Try to get a couple old dog's in here.

In no particular order: Me with Hannah on her last hunt, Head shot of Otis @14yrs, side shot of Pete (EP), side shot of Dusty (Britt), front shot of Kate (EP). Might need to make another post! Yep, will make one more post! This is "Pete", "Dusty" and "Kate".

Three more. "Ace" (EP), "Otis @ 14yrs (EP) and last but not least, me and "Hannah" 13yrs old on her last hunt.

God made the mountains, streams and river's,
He made the earth and the sky'
But He didn't make the dog'
He already had one!

When I first got him and was working with him on retrieving he would only do it a few times then he would just lose intrest. I was worried about that until we took him hunting. Boy does he go nuts for downed birds and the rest of the time he just sits and waits for some action. My brother in laws lab will fetch a stick all day but the down side is that when we are hunting she won't sit still and he has to get after her all the time about it.

If I'd known that there were dogs like this around I would have had one a whole lot earlier than I did. I just hope that the next one will be half as good as he has been.

You are right Don. That's what my brain was thinking but by the time my fingers typed it the word had changed. (**!!)

Nobody has ever accused me of being smart.

I've been thinking about getting an english pointer to go chase the growing population of devil bird we have around here.

this is copper he's a killer waterfowler! his specialty is taking hand signals, he will follow hand signals at 150+ yds! he is amazing very patiant in the blind very little bad habits! course all dogs have a little to work on. he does like to release some times on the shot of the gun instead of waiting.. but my believe is any bad habits a dog has should strickly be blamed on their owner!!! but i wont complain he is the best water dog ive hunted over!!!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thanks everybody it's been a hard couple of days to say the least.

Mark,

That is a great post. It really warmed my heart.
Here is one that my brother (treetop) sent me .

>A Dog's Purpose - from a 4 year old
>
>Being a veterinarian, I was called to examine a ten year old Irish
>wolfhound named Belker.
>
>The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa and their little boy, Shane, were
>all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle.
>
>I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family
>we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the
>euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
>
>As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be
>good for the four-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as
>though Shane might learn something from the experience.
>
>The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family
>surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last
>time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.
>
>Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.
>
>The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any
>difficulty or confusion.
>
>We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about
>the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who
>had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."
>
>Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned
>me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.
>
>He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life

>four-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so

Yoder is a good looking dog. My ex-wife just picked up a pure EP at the animal shelter a week ago. Found the former owners brother and he claims its an Elhew, really nice pup about a year old. been pretty badly abused by a man so goes down when men get around him. Live wire when with the ex. Small dog, 33 lbs when she got him but badly under fed. Shes getting some weight back on him but he'll still be a small one, maybe 40 lbs. He'll be out here in a couple weeks and I'll get a photo of him.
