Mathews switchback xt vs. bowtech tribute

well ive spent a couple hours at the archery store shooting a few bows and have narrowed my choices down to 2 i know i cant go wrong with either but i just cant make up my mind id liike to hear some input on how you like them from whoever has either the bow tech tribute or the mathews switchback xt

ive shot about 15- 20 bows from hoyt to diamond to pse to bowtech...etc so im pretty set on these 2 didnt like the vectrix, drenalin, trykon, btech guardian
so dont try to convince me on any of those just the two i mentioned please

Don't have any experience with either, but when I have 2 good choices...how about a good ole fashion coin flip.

Heads = Bowtech
Tails = Mathews

Good luck in the toss!! :)

i shot them alot and i would go with the switchback, the tribute was a real nice shooting bow but i did like the switchback better these were 2 of my final 3 bows [ the other being the drenaline, wich i bought] but it came down to just the 2 matthews bows and i could tell really no differance so the lighter and faster drenaline won. but out of the two you asked about i did like the switchback better. so all in all i would say buy the DRENALINE---no oohps i meant the switchback xt. :)) :))

yeah the thing i didnt really like about the drenaline myself is it seemed to have quite abit of handshok it just felt like it wanted to jump outta my hand but i did like how light it was thats really nice but id rather the switchback or tribute. but to each there own well thanks for the input!

I was faced with the same decision about 6months ago and went with the Tribute. I wish I wouldn't have! That draw cycle just continued to wear me on me and I couldn't get consistent shooting from it, yes it was timed right and I don't think it was me because I could pick up an Ultratec and shoot great anytime. The bow just didn't agree with me (???) for whatever reason.
The Tribute is so top heavy that it created problems there also, mine was an 06' and the centershot was way out there and still had cable clearance problems with blazers, had to use a Saunder's Hyperglide cable slide to fix that. Then there is always the cam lean to be considered???
If you want a bow that you don't have to worry about, the Mathews is the better bow in my opinion. I think you get better nock travel and a proven design without the suspicion of limb problems, and side by side, the biggest major difference is the grip. If you can ignore everyones perceptions about who shoots what bows, which one will last longer without problems? I would say the Mathews, oh-- and they hold their resale a whole lot better!
Just my opinion after owning the Tribute for 6 months and trading it for the Hoyt Vulcan last week, I like it better than the Tribute and it shoots faster.

I shoot the '06 Tribute and I love it. Yes the cams tend to lean but I can consistently place arrows at 70 yards. Hand shock is virtually nonexistent and it is oh so smooth to draw. I shoot blazers and have no trouble. As far as it being slower, I shoot a 27 1/2" draw at 60 pounds and I am pushing 280 fps. No BS; had it chronographed from the pro shop and got it in writing. But maybe more important is that it is hitting with 61 fps. of kinetic energy. Mathews makes a great bow but I've got my favorite.

If you have the opportunity in your area, you should try a Hoyt Vectrix. It is a much smoother draw than the previous Trykon.

It sounds like you have put in some homework hours on this decision. I probably can't or won't say anything that will give you revelation ast o what bow to buy, but I can tell you I have shot them both. I have owned Bowtech, but not the Mathews. The bowtech bows just "feel" better to me in my hand and weighted nicely. I think from some reports that the Tribute may be just a bit faster that will differ from person to person and when you are shooting at the speeds those two bows are, how much more do you need? They are both pleny fast.

I can say also from a person that tunes bows I have much more enjoyed working on a Bowtech rather than the Mathews. I like the string system on the Bowtech better.

As I said that probably doesn't help but there is my two cents ($$)

Have you tried the new PSE
X Force HF
One thing to keep in mind PSE has been making bows before most of the other bow manufacturers.
