MO Whitetail Down

Got my first buck of the year here in MO last night. He is a little better deer than the pic. His bases are 6" around and he carries his mass all the way out. Not much spread but still I would say a 135" class buck give or take a few inches.

Just got back from the taxi who is also a offocial B&C scorer and he green scored it at 144". He fooled me even after he was dead. I let this buck walk by at 30 yards and couldn't decide if he was big enough. When he gave me a different angle I could see that he would make P&Y easily so I grabbed my ratting antlers and gave a light tickle or two and a couple of grunts and he couldn't take it. He turned around and came right back to me facing me the whole time. After he made a scape that seemed to take 5 minutes he finally turned and gave me the angle that I needed. Since Bohntr told me about the lumenocks I left them at home ,but if I would have used them I would have been able to see the glow from my treestand.Still an easy track job of about 70 yards the next day.

Guys I wish I had some more photo's but I was by myself and did them all with a tripod and a self timer. First time doing this so most of them don't have me in them or my head cut off. The ones that did turn out ok all have the same pose.

If you go to the trailcam forum and look under whitetail pic that I put in you will see just a bucks head on the right. I am pretty sure that is the same buck that I killed. The stand that I got him from is just about 300 yars from where that pic was taken.
