This pic is of a wide 3x muley leaving one of the waterholes on my friends ranch,he has alphalfa and 3 waterholes along the edge of these canyons and many big muleys. He only allows archery hunting on his place and the deer are outstanding.Believe it or not it holds some of the biggest Wts I have seen in MT as well.

I live in Helena but I hunt ALL over the state of MT.We dont have the monster buck genetics like UT and CO but we have some of the funnest landscapes to hunt in the US,and tons of public land with good deer. These badlands are in the ME corner of the state.

One of these years I'll take my boy's up to MT for a deer hunt. I never hunted out of state before but I have been to MT and it's some of the best country I've seen so far!

Great lookin' country NONYA! I sure love Montana. My mom and dad were both from Montana, we lived in Dillon for a short spell, and I still head out there quite a bit to visit family. I REALLY need to try a little huntin' out there myself one of these days.

Thanks for the pics.

That could be a lot of places in MT. If I were to make a guess I would say,
Missouri River breaks country.

Its quite a bit south of the CMR but it looks just like it,minus all the people. :222

I didnt know its legal in mt to have a device to keep your bow at full draw how does it work? how much wieght does it add?

I am one of a very few archers in MT who have been approved by the F&G to use the draw loc due to loss of strength/mobility in my left arm.I cant support or draw a bow with my left so I use a draw loc and shoot left handed,I actually grip the release and use my right arm to lift the bow and my left arm into posiion when I shoot. If it wrnt for the loc I wouldnt own a bow. :arrow

still curious on how it works and how heavy

I took a pic of it at full draw for ya,the entire draw loc probably weighs 1.5-2 lbs,it has a standard release built into it and used with the whisker biscut is extremly accurate.

thanks the reason I was asking is because I have 2 plates and 12 screws in my left arm and after a few hours of shooting it hurts like a bugger and its gettying worse I dont need it yet but some day I might need too petition utahs fish and game for some thing like this or god forbide a cross bow.

If the land owner allowed rifle hunting Id killa great buck there every year.Even with a modified achery permit here in Mt you can NOT use a crossbow. :arrow

killerbee
whats the reasoning for that? seems as long as you had the permit they are pretty much the same right?

No idea, even if I could I would rather use the setup i have. :arrow
