Plenty of elk on the private parts that arnt outfitted,if you can get access you will see elk,can only shoot a bull the first two weeks in some areas so some the landowners outfit for 2 weeks then let a few locals in to control the cow population.

I am hunting over on the Sotuh side of route 12 over by the commmunicatrions tower. I have seen some elk over there but am not sure if I should look for a better spot. I have yet to see an elk over there and it is going on the second week of hte season. Do you know anything about that area over there? I am wondering if I should pack up camp and go elsewhere?

Pray for snow if you cant get one of the big spreads over there to let you in,most are leased by outfitters and wont let anyone in.
