moose sheds and sizzled ticks

Im a little frustrated this year. Ive found around 70 horns so far but its been a hard year. Ive covered many miles. Im not complaining by any means but I cant find hardly any decent fresh.. Yesterday I went to a new spot on my dirt bike..Not too shabby when you just happen to stop look over and see tines 10 yards off the trail. The first one is probably at least 2-3 years old Then I seen another shed about 30 yards away.This one was last years. I couldn't find their matches.. I didn't realize until I got home but they are from the same bull.. They have hundreds of acres to roam and he just happened to drop the same side from the previous year about 30 yards apart..
They are nothing to brag about but I was happy to find at least a few old ones

Had a little crash.. Don't even ask how it happened.. Came to a abrupt stop and went flying over the handle bars, don't rely on moose sheds to cushion your fall.. My back is still a little stiff..

I found 2 ticks on my horse after the ride that night.. I couldn't resist when I found the magnifying glass.. hehee

That magnifying glass cracked me up, I remember my neighbor teaching me how to fry grasshoppers when I was a kid. lol

Shed hunting is getting tougher and tougher, I hiked for a couple of hours today and nodda nothing.

I like to see ticks tortured. Only the diehard type shed hunters venture out after the ticks get plentiful. :thumb 70 is a a good year. I'm about at 60 and winding down, may still find a few. I need to get out and match up some 6pt elk, that will have to wait until Sept. Like :-k they won't be scooped up by then.

A moose is a moose they are not easy to find congrats. So are you not finding fresh because people are in your spot or do you think the winter was different this year?

Thank you! Yes moose are hard to come by .. Any shed is still a shed.. no matter how small

I have a few spots that are not seen by a sole but myself. I really think that they wintered high. When I checked that spot a month ago there was still 4 feet of snow. And I went back in there last weekend and really didnt see any sign that they have been living in there.. So im not sure where they are..
My other spot, I know of one guy that goes in there a few times a year but this year I havent seen his tracks and Ive picked up all the ones ive missed last year so im sure he hasnt been.
Also all winter long there were 2 guys lion hunting in the same canyon where the deer winter.. Go figure why I cant find any fresh, the deer were probably ran 10 miles away by the hounds..
Im going out all weekend hopefully I can get lucky..

Good luck this weekend! Where I hunt is in the desert. It doesnt seem like the deer change spots from year to year too much, I guess because the elevation is pretty flat. The hard part though is I have to drive three hours to get to my spot! I found this horn two weeks ago and I cant get out to look for the other side till the 30th. O well good luck again but the way you pound the hills dosent seem like too much luck is needed.
