Roy, that's an amazing collection of mulies for anyone with any weapon, let alone if they are mostly archery. Unbelievable! Are they mostly from a particular state?

My buddy who arrowed these bruisers is Jeremy Houston from Kanab. Most are from Utah....general season archery. Two of the hard horned bucks are from the Kaibab. Some may recognize the HUGE velvet typical in the middle.....it net scored 195". He's not only a good bowhunter, but an exceptional sportsmen as well.

MnM,

That's a fantastic antelope (and the mulie in the photo is no slouch either)! Has the antelope been scored? I don't think I recall it being entered to the state bowhunting record book. Is it going to be entered, or do you need help finding a measurer?

Marvin:

The buck is my husbands, and he'd never really thought much about having him officially scored. When he killed it back in '04, he green-scored it right around 80 -81. He wouldn't mind having it officially scored to know what exactly it would go.
PM me if you get a chance.

Marvin - did you take your mountain lion with a bow? Love to hear the story when you get everthing back up and running smoothly with the computer.

Tiana,

Antelope were probably the weakest category in the last biennial period. A buck of that size would have definitely finished in the top two and taken home a biennial ward for the 2003-2004 recording period...

I should have taken the lion with a bow. I did manage to take it without the aid of dogs, however. I had a late season coues rifle tag a few years ago. I had been hunting with my bow, but that morning it was extremely windy and I decided to carry my little 18 1/2" .243 on my pack frame and leave the bow in camp. I was on a trail only about 150 yards from my tent (I could still see my tent), when the lion was walking down the trail toward my tent. The lion stopped at about 25 yards and sat down, looking around. It was very thick on both sides of the trail, so one jump and it would be gone. I slowly stepped off the trail, and reached around to get the rifle off the pack. I really don't think it ever knew I was there!

Just a couple of days later, I saw another one that went by me within 20 yards again. It was stalking some coues and I spooked the deer deliberately to keep the lion from getting one. That was pretty stupid, because it was about 1 or 2 days before the end of the year, and I could have bought another OTC lion tag. He probably still would have been coming back to feed on the deer for a few days, and I could have set up a blind and maybe taken that one with my bow.... I saw another one in Kiabab this last September, and got pretty close to him too, but hadn't bought a tag last year. ](*,)

Also, I finally posted my antelope story on the bowhunting big game forum. The first picture in the story is the buck in the far back left corner of my trophy room, and the WR buck is in the back right corner. The buck who's nose is sticking into the right side of the picture of my trophy room didn't make the other story either....poor third biggest buck.....left out of both threads!

That one on the left side of the room in the corner was your first record buck right?
Thanks for posting the story, I'm going to check it out now.

Yes.....it's a 340" AZ bull from 1999. I didn't mount my 2005 bull, as they're just too darn big to have several on display.....I already had another AZ bull mounted from 1993.
