My 2010 Extended Buck

Here is my 2010 extended archery buck i killed this year. Our hunting party decided we were only gonna shoot good sized three point or better so we can let the little ones grow. When we saw this buck we decided i should shoot him because he was limping really bad and couldn't use one of his legs. We figured he would die anyways from the winter or the coyotes will get him. He is small but it was definitely a fun hunt! The first shot i had was 20 yards and i hit a little low in the lungs. We jumped him while tracking him and he stopped 10 yards from me, only seeing his middle part of his body. I took a shot and the buck ran about 30 yards and he was down! My first buck with a bow!!! The crappy part is right after i shot him, about 2 minutes later i had a really nice 3x4 run right towards me but oh well, some other lucky hunter will get him!

Congrats on the first buck. Did you get him in November? Hopefully I'll be able to get out again w/in the month as this is my first yr archery hunting.

Congrats man! Nothing like that first buck with the bow. And you showed some awesome hunter ethics! 10sign: There's always next year for the bigger bucks!
