I took this fella a couple days ago. They don't get much bigger than this over here. I'm out the door to go look for another one in about a half hour. I'll post the story later.... Sorry about the cheesy hat, I had to wear as other hunters showed up after the kill.

CONGRATS!
J/K just messing with ya.
Thanks for taking your [@] along.
Looks big to me, as per your other photos. :thumb
I'm having a ball over here! There are deer all over the place! Even after I shot this one I heard others buggling right close. As we left in the dark we saw deer in the same field! It's almost wrong....almost that is.
Hello Cody, the king of one-liners, the only other big game here are bears, some of which can be pretty da-gone big! 8-900 pounds. Other than that there are just ducks and grouse.
Anyway, I was pretty lucky to end up with that stag, as a few other folks had their eyes on him as well. I have been riding my dirtbike in the hills close to my house throughout the summer and more or less did some scouting as well. I had seen this fella a few times, and hoped to make something happen after the season started. As the rut started, I hoped to catch him out in the open, but I had to wait a few days until he decided to show himself. I had to quietly trudge through a slough just to get within the same plane as him. He was feeding away from me with about six does. The sun was behind me and I was getting pretty jittery with every sneaky step I took. I put the big boy behind a tree that was about halfway between the stag and I so that he couldn't see me. It worked well, but since I was completely honed in on him, I forgot about the does, and they pinned me and bailed. He looked around and had that " something don't smell right" posture and slowly started to follow the does. I dropped to the ground and belched out a cow elk call. He stopped. I put it on his neck. After the recoil I honed the scope right back on him, only to see his feet straight up in the air stone dead. Woo-Hoo!
Apparently some other guys were watching me and came over to check out the big boy, so I had to put on my cheesy hat. :) But at least they took some pictures for me.
And the rest of the story goes something like "Then the real work began as I began to quarter up and haul out....... " But it was a ton of fun and a great buck to boot! Nothing like making Japanese hunters jealous on their own ground!
Thanks for the clarification bud, didn't quite get the whole 'hat' thing. Makes sense now.
Do/can you hunt the bears?
I'll bet they were!
