That sounds like a great plan youngbuck91! Keep to it. A college education is just about the only way to go now days. I was going to go into wildlife biology right out of high school, but found out that they didn't make all that much money. Not bad, but not what I wanted to make. However, I am giving some thought about going to get my wildlife biology degree as soon as I'm done with my Bachelors in Business Management and Marketing. I'll be done with those two degrees this time next year. Then I may go back to get another Bachelors in Biology.

So keep up the ambition and get a degree that you'll use and enjoy doing! Good Luck!

Good luck on being a Game Warden. Actually the DOW has a large section on their website staing their current and future needs and their recommendations for shooling, you might want to read up on it all ontheir site. Our friend is one near here and shes just the greatest person we ever met in CO. Ever.

When you go to guide school stay away from COAGS in Springs as those folks are now locked up in jail. Find a reputable guide school, and be very very wary. Do yourself a favor and pay by credit card.

Youngbuck, sounds like you have it all figured out! Stick with it my friend...I sure wish I had a plan when I was your age!

Remember, you will never accomplish anything with a plan, goals, and the will to stick with it!

GOOD LUCK BUD!

Not meaning to run down 'guide schools', but the best one is working for a 'real' outfitter and get your hands on education. You may have to start as camp cook, but if you have the most important guide skill you will be a guide in on time. The MOST important skill a guide MUST have is people skills, knowing how to stroke clients ego's and not show frustration and keep the mood positive. Good luck either way.
