Well,
We (My wife, oldest son, father-in-law, and brother-in-law) have been working on restoring my 1992 Chevy 1500 stepside for about three months now. After completely stipping it, smoothing out all the nicks, dings, and dents, and getting the primer layed we finally got the paint and clear coat done. I attached a few pics just in case you were interested. (The wheels and tires are off of my old gal that my wife totalled while I was deployed. They were the only things we were able to salvage)

FYI: We have brand new bumpers, grill, chrome, side mirrors, etc that will be going on next. The 350 has been completely rebuilt and now all we need to do is buy a new windshield and then start on the interior. (Thank the good lord for in-laws that own an auto shop and love to do this stuff for nothing!)

Sneekee....I would agree with ya as far as the interior goes. It will have to wait for a bit anyway. I pretty much put all my "extra" cash into the primer, stripping material, paint, clear coat, bumpers, grill, engine rebuild, etc. Of course, I have paid NOTHING in labor so I am getting off extremely cheap here so no complaints!
I guess I'll be OK with screwed up interior for a little while longer. Of course, having my 2006 Chevy 1500 helps too :)
As far as saving a few $$ on the glass, check with a few auto glass companies and see if they have any seconds in stock. I used to work for an auto glass company and we always had windshields that had a scratch or blemish in them that we would discount to customers. Buy a new one and it will look like a second in a couple of months anyways, so you might as well save a few bucks where you can.
Nice job on the truck so far 10sign: I cant wait until i can get mine into the shop for some body work and paint.
Chet, I'm a Chevy man, through and through!
As for taking into the mud, grease, and everything else in the great outdoors...OF COURSE! Now, that doesn't mean I won't wash it EVERY time I am back and treat it like a baby....but I'll take it out.
