My son's first real rifle shoot

I took the family camping last weekend and got the chance to get my youngest son some "range time" while out there also.

A buddy of mine was doing some house cleaning and gave me an old Marlin single-shot .22 to pass to my youngest boy. He had bugged me to go shooting ever since I brought it home so we took it with us. The rifle is a bit big for him at this point but he did pretty dang well...especially considering that he hadn't shot anything bigger than a pellet gun prior to that!

(The Marlin is an iron site rifle. There is one pic of Sky with a scoped .22 that I also brought for the older kids...he liked the iron sites better.)

Very cool! I remember one of the first time my dad let me shoot. It's likely something your son will never forget. How old is the young man?

to cool! my first 22 was the same thing, the type you put 1 bullet it, close the bolt, pull back the pin in the back and shoot. great times!

Thanks guys....we ALL had a lot of fun that weekend! We went back out again this past weekend and did some more shooting. This time he got the chance to shoot a little Makarov .380 that has been collecting dust in my gun cabinet. He was a little more shaky with it than the .22 but did pretty well. We are gonna have to make this a regular deal I think...he's already asking to do it again.

79Ford, Skylor just turned 6 years old a couple months ago.
