Here's the deal......I recently just purchased a new custom winners choice string for my 2002 Bowtech Patriot. The strings came and the packages had the lengths on them that matched my bows specs for both strings...So I have a local archery shop put my strings on and put a new peep on and my new Trophy Taker rest. The peep is the same length from my nock point(measured from old string) and I paper tuned the arrow to shoot a bullet hole. Well, I started to sight my bow in starting at 20 yards. I shot about 4 1/2 feet low...Didn't make sense??? Shouldn't it have only varied maybe a few inches? So I dropped the whole sight down(by the way it is a SpottHogg SDP7) as far as it goes (about an inch from where it previous was with the old setup)...was still shooting a foot and a half low. So I drop my top pin down as far as it will go and still have room for my other pins and I was shooting about an inch low. What's the deal? I have a few ideas what may be wrong, but wanted some other ideas what's the problem....I have two theories: 1) The string winners choice made me was a little longer than what I needed. 2)I may have to have my string twisted a couple of times to tuen to the bow. The reason I came up with these is because I have also lost about 5-6 lbs in draw weight and some speed.......Any suggestions may help.
I have been to 4 different bow shops and have varying answers as to what the problem is from nock point to peep location to rest to sight. All are stumped as to what to do. I thought I would throw this out to all you bowhunters to see if any of you has had this happen. Could it be the bow? Possible crackes in the limbs? (Have looked and they seem fine-I am shooting great groupings). I am shooting same arrows (Black Maxx's 27")
Is a new bow in order??????

I just put W.C. strings on my 05 UltraMag and had to rezero my sight, I had to raise my sight 5 inches. I believe I picked up a bit of speed. Any other sight adjustments you could possibly make, lowering the entire bracket or anything like that?

If you can try cranking up the tension on you limbs untill you get that five or six pounds of draw weight back and see if the helps. It sounds to me like this new string is longer for some reason thus putting less tension on you limbs. That would explain why you are seeing all of the symptoms that you are talking about.

This is kind of hindsight and probaly won't help much now but before I do anything to my bow I put timing marks on my cams. That way I always now where my alignment was before.
