Nephews Cow

I kinda lost track of thing with the Bison hunt and all, but the main reason my dad and nephew came out was to get Sam his 1st elk. Sam had just returned from Iraq in Sep and the hunt was a thank you from my son and I for his service.
He kill a nice cow the second day of the season that is only the 4th elk I've ever got out whole. the weather was warm with a full moon everynight and that made for some hard hunting. nether my son or I shot a cow , Thank God, with 500lbs of bison meat I'm going to be out of frezzer space as it is.
Sam 's first shot was a liver shot but he double lunged her with the 2nd a couple off 100 yrds from were he 1st shot her. He was hunting near my son so I was not there to get any pic's until they got out to the main road.

Congrats to your nephew on his first elk. Just heard from one of my buddies in MS and he's up for a couple of whitetail hunts when I get back, too!

Hmmmm, I just noticed something in the pic. Them britches your nephew has on sure do look awfully familiar. In fact, I just looked down and they look an awful lot like the ones I'm wearing! I'm wondering if we have the same tailor? :))
