so my buddy accidentally put in for the wrong unit and ended up drawing the archery tag for 41/42 nevada was just looking for little info and possibly a starting point to the area.
i realize deer numbers are very low and is pretty dry and probably difficult for a bow. but we still wanna check it out and give it a shot.

Don't know any specifics, but a buddy of mine lives in Winnemucca and this is his hunt of choice. He kills great bucks everytime he draws, so tell your friend chin-up, there are big bucks in them thar hills------SS

spring does he archery hunt or rifle? ive heard they are tough to find during archery but i thinnk we are gonna give it a whirl.

I live in Winnemucca and have hunted there a number of times. This is actaully a really good area. Your right in that there is low deer population there but the deer you do see seem to be alot better bucks. I would look in the Eugenes as a starting spot. This area burned a few years ago so expect very sparce cover but it can be done and should be a good hunt.
