Nevada DOW Seeking Info on Deer Poaching

Nevada game wardens are seeking any tips or information on a large trophy class deer that was discovered poached northeast of Pioche near Atlanta Summit in Lincoln County.
Game wardens responded to a citizen's complaint and found a mule deer that had been illegally shot and dumped off the Atlanta Mine road. Game wardens investigating the case believe the deer was poached sometime during the weekend of August 18th. The deer's head had been removed, and none of the meat had been taken leaving the entire animal to rot.
"This is the exact type of investigation game wardens really need the public's help with, due to the fact there is very little physical evidence to work with at the crime scene," said Cameron Waithman, game warden captain at the Nevada Department of Wildlife. "We really want to catch the criminals that steal Nevada's public resources by poaching and wasting wildlife."
Anyone with information on the poaching can contact Operation Game Thief (OGT) at (800) 992-3030. OGT is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the suspect(s) who perpetrated this crime, and callers can remain anonymous.
