I'm a newbie, so excuse my ignorance if I show any.
I have hunted Elk for many years in Plenty of Places, New Mexico, Unit 50-52 Brazos Basin, Chama, Idaho, Utah, Kolob Mtn, when Elk were first getting established, Salina, Monroe, all over the place, but due to work loads, have fallen out of things for the last 3 years.
I have a friend who drew a Nevada unit 231 Bull Archery Tag, and he has asked me to help him out.
9 Years to draw this tag, so he is excited to say the least, but this is his first ever Archery hunt, let alone Elk hunt.
We have been out to Scout the area, but have not had much success.
We have spent most of our time on Table Mtn, White Rocks, and Wilson Peak areas, but seen few animals.
I know the rain has spread the animals around, and their not hitting the water holes as heavily, but what I was hoping, is possibly anyone who has hunted this unit in the last couple of years, or shed hunters who know this area, may find it in their hearts to help a couple of die hards out.
Can someone point us into an area, that tends to hold a few more Elk than what we are seeing.
I realize 4 days of scouting isn't much, but it's all we had, and I know we need to get into the thick trees, but really felt like we would see more elk than we have.
Anyone out there want to help us out a little, and give us an area to concentrate on. His hunt opens this coming weekend, and we thought we would concentrate on the top and North End of Whiterocks. Any suggestions.
Glad to be on board, and look forward to chatting with some of you guys.
Take care
And thanks for any help some of you may offer.

Glad to have to join the forums and look forward to hearing from you.
Sure miss the Southern, Utah area.
Getting pretty crowded down that way though.
Both my wifes and my family all live in St. George, Hurricane area.
Can't wait to get back after those bulls on Kolob.
