I just got a new Moultrie Game Spy 100 Digital Camera MFH-DGS-100V2. I am using it to scout for elk and mule deer in colorado. I need some tips or secrets on where to put it. I have some idea's but need some more. I am excited to see what else is out there!!!!!!!!!!1

Good luck!
I got many pictures without anyting in them, I figured out that it was the shadows of trees.
I put one of my cameras on the fence line in the fall. all the bucks come down to the hay fields at night.
I have one camera on game trail, All the moose cross this path to get to the ponds and I have a camera set up right now by a water hole. (This way you can get all the critters comming for water.)
Good Luck.
Just to warn you.. It gets addicting, one camera will lead to another!
Try not to go the camera often, you will leave your scent and the sneeky critters will avoid your set up.
If I remember right in Colorado you can't put salt licks out for game. Correct me if I'm wrong on this. If so talk the the ranchers that run stock in the area and see if they know where there might be some licks around in the hills. If you set up on them this time of year you'll get some great pictures of animals before the range stock show up.
I also try to keep my cameras pointing north as much as possible. One for them being set off and second because at dawn and dusk I've had the sun blurr out some of the pictures when the animals were coming in.
