I would get my bow paper tuned for your broadhead/fieldtip problem. My bow did that a while back and it was a tuning issue. Very minor adjustments at the local archery shop. Some people do it themselves.

As for elk on the Bountiful mountains, I'm sure they are there, but you gotta put in the work to find out! :)

It's possible your arrows aren't not stiff enough for your setup. what bow are you shooting, draw length and pull weight, then what shafts are you usnig, spine and all that and I'll see if that is OK. The rest would be tuning. I shoot Wasp SSTs, and sometimes Muzzy 100 grainers and they go right where my field tips go.

as for Elk on the boutiful. there is a small herd that is seen here and there but nothing that is big enough to count. they are mostly over the otherside of the peak. i have seen a cow 3 times out there but have yet to see a bull. Same cow every time i look for her. but she seems to be a loner. if yoru looking for elk your better to go where there is a real herd or you will just be wasting your time.

You're way under spined. Move up to 7595s at that spec and you're good to go. Cut your shafts to 28.25" (measure from the valley of the nock to the insert) with 100 grain tips and you should be just about perfecto.

With speed bows you can't choose shafts using generic limb weight charts, you have to go with initial velocity to figure proper spine.

I don't know where you live, but if you do so in the Salt Lake, UT area, look what I found:

Great bow by the way, I bet it shoots great. =D>
