Haha, That would certainly explain my troubles. I knew Arizona was like that, but I thought NM had a system. Thanks for the heads up! I guess I'll stick to more hunting DVD's until I find a year I can make the trip, stand by Brett - I'm makin' a big purchase next month!

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!! I'm all jacked up dude. I'll start my research right now, but is it too late to do just a point on mule deer, elk, and if they have a draw for cougar then that too?

Is AZ one of those stupid states where is makes you pay the entire price of the tag upfront even if you're just doing a point, then they refund your money by check after the draw? Maybe that's why I deleted it off my list.

az makes you buy a hunting license before applying, and they dont refund that!!

Hmm.. Maybe that's why it's not on my list, I don't really remember. I hate all the crap that comes with putting in for out of state tags!! I've done good over the last couple years and have good points in Wyoming, Colorado (and obviously Utah) but I'd really like to broaden my opportunity. Every state is sooo different though, it gets pretty annoying! Why can't they just come up with 1 good application system, hah.

In AZ you need to buy a hunting license, I believe around $250 for NR (non-refundable). Once you have that, you can buy a bonus point for $7.50 each species.

As far as Mt. Lion, there is no drawing, you can purchase a tag over the counter anytime you'd like. You must also purchase the hunting license as stated above (but the license is good for all big and small game species).

Arizona requires non residents to buy a hunting license for $151.25

or a fishing/hunting license combo for $225.75

points are an additional $7.50 each

Ive got a spreadsheet I've been using for a few years. Send me a PM and I'll send it to you. I've got all the Western States on it with dates. This year I've included rates to figure out what I am actually spending for point each year.
