NEW MEXICO DEER TAG!! NICE!

So it's been awhile since i've posted but it's because i used to post under MuzzyBuck but for some reason my password isnt' working and I requested the new ones and they weren't either so here I am again as a little forked horn!! :thumb So I finally drew a tag for the first time in my life that is not a general season tag. I have plenty of points in Utah for a number of good animals yet am continually unable to draw as I am sure is similar to many of you. But I drew a New Mexico deer tag unit 2A for November 1-5 and am looking for any kind of information any of you might have or know. Any advice and tips would be much appreciated, I was pretty freakin stoked! I have done some research myself but I figured why not ask the good bretheren at MULEY MADNESS!! Cause that's the fever we all have!!

I got drawn for 2nd hunt archery elk in 15 and Jan muledeer in 23. This is the area I hunt if and when I get drawn. I do know that almost all of the top ten state records have come from the general area where you drew. Good Luck Man!

That is an awesome mule deer tag!!!!!!!! if you want to go guided you should contact a guide name Chris Guekama....call Jack Diamond outfitters and I am sure they will give you his number..he is the man for that area....505-772-5795..However you probably will not need a guide...but if you prefer it they are the contact and have all the info...

Hey jtnm got the pm I appreciate it and we'll do. Also thanks to the other good posts that helps and I appreciate the tips. I'm also trying to get a feel for the herd populations and buck to doe ratios in the area. I also want to know what kind of access is available. I'm planning a scouting trip but to be honest I will probably only be able to get one in with the way gas is right now!! Sucks!! :>/ Also what's the terrain like? Is it cactus, more rock and sage flats or steep? Thanks again guys and anymore info. from anyone would help again. Thanks!
