New Official P&Y World Record Mule Deer

Here it is mule deer fanatics......the newly appointed Pope & Young world record mule deer. It was an awesome mule deer to measure at panel......it beat a record that has been there since the late 70's. It panel measured 205 0/8" net......and that's with only one eye-guard (G1). My ugly mug is standing with it just to give you a comparison.

That is absolutely awesome. I like the whole body mount. It helps put it into perspective.

Can you refresh my memory on where and when this buck was taken? I remember seeing it but don't quite remember the story

This particular buck was taken in Sonora, Mexico......arrowed the second morning of the hunt. It was encountered by the hunter the first day, right at dusk, but a shot opportunity didn't play out before legal shooting light had expired. The next day, he had another chance and was able to make the shot. The mass on this buck is unbeleivable......the photo does it no justice.

That actually helps a lot having a body in the picture to put it in perspective. That thing is HUGE! I'd love to see it in person.
