I'm assuming your talking for Oregon only, as the P&Y Club does not classify "state records".....only world records. (world record American Elk is 409 2/8")

That IS a dandy bull and your buddy should still be on cloud nine. I know I would be. Neat looking country as well. Thanks for posting.

thanks for the official replay--- Jack as if every one here dont relize that pope and yound does not recognize state records____ if you hunt you do recognize them and pope and young would mean killed with a bow- in case as an official measurer you did not know!!!!! smarty how bout' we take the post for what it is in stead of picking it apart

No need to get your panties in a wad there young man.......no harm meant on my end. However, if you've been around these boards for a while, it doesn't take too long for someone to post something like, "I thought Chuck Adams has the P&Y record".......not truly understanding what you are tyring to convey in your post. Just tried to clarrify for you before it got to that point.

Bottom line.......it's the highest scoring archery killed bull elk in Oregon to date.......and a dandy bull. NUFF said! Now go take a midol. :)

yes ,I appologize for being snappy but I think every time ive made a post, someone has made sure to correct any thing that was not typed out to perfection. I usually asume that everyone is an avide hunter and relizes the everyday facts that go with it. My bad__

Killerbee, great lookin' bull!!

I don't want to harp but I must say, BOHNTR is one of our most respected and longest standing members on this site and quite frankly is one of the best bow hunters around (certainly the best I have ever had the pleasure to chat with). I've never seen him post a negative thing about anyone on this site and I certainly don't think he did it in this case either.

Dang nice bull your buddy has there. Any idea what part of the state that bad boy lived in? Also, public or private?

Oregon doesn't get enough credit (guess I shouldn't say that too loud :-$ ) for its elk.

it was killed around the pendleton area on private land. but it is a whopper 4 sure! private or not did you see the country in the background? made it pretty tough for him to get up on this beast!

That's one teriffic bull, The only thing that would have been better is if it had been taken on Public land. Actually I'm just jealous though I've hunted near there and it seems like a there's a lot of nice bulls down on the private lands around that part of the country. I've wasted more then one day watching those guys run around and hoping they would cross the fence back onto the NF land. Congrats to your buddy! Maybe see it at the upcoming Sportsmans Show?
